Tractors are cool. We rented one for a weekend, but only got to use it on Saturday because it rained hard on Sunday.
Still, its amazing what you can get done in one day with a tool like this. We were able to fix the deep ruts in the road created by heavy trucks the previous winter. (Contractor repair estimate - $20k. Real cost, half day tractor & gas $150 and $150 worth of crushed stone - $300) We were also able to clear of stones and smooth out our lawn area to prep for grass in the remaining half day. But that job took a bit more than just the tractor. The thing about our land is, its rocky. Really rocky. So even after you've raked off all the stones over 2 inches wide, you still have to go in and hand rake the smaller stones and pick them by hand. Becca and I are excited to take our shoes off this spring and walk in the lawn, something that's been painfully impossible up to now.
