We popped in to San Francisco for a few days. Some old friends hosted us – Brian & Anna in Berkeley and Amanda & Eric in The City. They were both so amazingly hospitable (something to remember next time I get the 11th hour call that a friend is in town). Brian cooked us a delicious steak dinner and we were guessing it had been 6-8 years since we’d last seen each other. I’d guess it had been at least 10 years since I’d seen Amanda, so of course we retired to her salty water front rowing team clubhouse. Great, weird, location for a beer, oh Amanda!
We spent the day time walking around my old haunts and I showed Becca my old apartment on Baker St. at Haight St. We found “Pal’s Take Away” sandwich shop, located in a shared space with a corner grocery store, that we’d heard about on NPR and both had the Pork Brisket Sandwich. Later we searched the Mission for the ultimate burrito. I’m not sure we found it, but the one we ate was quite tasty if not a bit pricey.
