On our way out of Portland, we stopped at a roadside berry stand to pick our own strawberries. Even though we didn’t have enough time to get out into the field, I think it sort of counts for completing #5 on “The List”. Along with the strawberries, we also got some cherries, marionberries and blueberries…stocked and ready for the coast!
The next morning we woke up at Nehalem Falls National Forest campground and discovered signs of a little critter, probably a field mouse, that had gotten into the truck bed. Our laundry bag was chewed through in several spots. Gross.
We packed up and drove into the nearest town for some food and antique shopping. Wheeler, Oregon has what Randy considers “the best antique shop in the world”. Again, if we had the room, we would have acquired much more. A few hours out of Wheeler, we spotted what looked like a promising antique barn but it turned out to have nothing interesting…just tons of rules!
